Get ready to see some of the most secluded areas within the Grand Canyon. Your tour begins with a trip by van to the 35-million-year-old landmark, Grand Canyon Caverns. You'll drive through the famous Route 66 on your way to the caverns.This van ride is about two to three hours long. Upon arrival, you'll get a chance to get an inside look at the remarkable Grand Canyon Caverns. The Grand Canyon Caverns is made up of natural limestone and measures 21 stories (210 feet) underground. You'll get a chance to go down the caverns, known to be the largest dry cavern in the United States, by elevator. Listen as your tour guide shares the geography and history behind this colossal wonder. (Note: guests must be physically fit and able to take directions. Proper footwear is also required.)From here, climb the open-air jeep, which seats seven people.This is where the true adventure begins. The time it takes to get to the bottom takes about one hour, 45 minutes. While the jeep descends 4,000 feet during a 20-mile trip, you won't have to worry about scary cliffs or ledges.This portion of the tour includes plenty of wildlife views. At the beach, enjoy a lunch, which includes a deli-style sandwich, chips, fruit, cookie and water. You'll have a chance to take pictures and even splash in the river. Keep in mind this is an isolated area, so only porta-potties are available.On the drive back up, you'll get to experience different views of the canyon, as well as more wildlife. The adventure begins with a van ride to its first destination, Grand Canyon Caverns. Located off the historic Route 66, the drive from Las Vegas is about two to three hours long.
